Here it is, Friday the 13th. What better day to bring up the subject of bad luck? If you asked investors what would be the worst luck for the global markets today, they would probably answer “The European sovereign debt crisis triggering a Lehman-like financial meltdown.” This answer should come as no surprise to most investors, as it has been a topic of debate for more than a year. And while the time and type of eventual conclusion to this crisis remains elusive, in our opinion, the quantifiable fallout from a worst-case scenario does not.
